Buhari sends letter to Nigerian Senate over fresh appointment

President Muhammadu Buhari has written a letter to the Nigerian Senate notifying the upper chamber about the appointment of Hon Kadi Ibrahim Imam as the acting grand kadi of the Sharia Court of Appeal of the Federal Capital Territory.
The letter from Buhari was read by Senate president Bukola Saraki during plenary on Tuesday, December 19, to the lawmakers. Meanwhile, the Nigerian Senate is holding a round-table on Monday, December 18 and Tuesday, December 19 on the drug use crisis in Nigeria. The move is part of the Senate’s efforts to stop drug and substance abuse around the nation.
We gathered that the round-table is expected to address issues related to the widespread use of drug and other illegal substances. Senate president, Dr Bukola Saraki, delivered an important speech at the event which focuses on the dangers of drug use and the need to curb its spread especially among the youths.
