5 days after InsideMainland report, IkejaElectric yet to take action on Ojota-Maryland bridge dangling cable

Exactly five days after InsideMainland reported the fallen pole at Odo-Iya Alaro Bridge inward Maryland, Lagos Mainland, and the high risk faced by pedestrians using the route daily to access their various destinations, power holding company, Ikeja Electric, are yet to take urgent action.

Recall that reported the fallen electric pole resting exactly on the walkway used by pedestrians to access both ends of the Odo-Iya Alaro bridge.

Presently, the electric cables are almost sitting on the walkway with pedestrians having to dodge the dangling cables while using the spot.

Commenting on the development at the time, a pedestrian, Samuel Oyatogun said; “This situation is a disaster waiting to happen and it shows how negligent we are to happenings that can hurt a lot of people. Of what benefit is it to allow the pole to stay in this state for so long till it leads to loss of lives or even properties?

“Those who are meant to take action should quickly do so to prevent unsuspecting victims being caught in the looming risk.”

However, days after the incident, the officials of disco company, Ikeja Electric Plc, are yet to take adequate action.

Calls made to the management team of the company were not returned neither were there signs of

The InsideMainland however expects that the disco company will take prompt action to prevent loss of lives and properties.
